Our Leadership Team
David Khougazian, President, Sanofi Pasteur MSD
David Khougazian is President of Sanofi Pasteur MSD SNC. He leads the company’s corporate teams and 19-country affiliates in the development and delivery of more than twenty-five innovative vaccines within the unique European context.
Prior to joining Sanofi Pasteur MSD, David served as Sanofi CEO Chief of Staff. In this position since 2011, he worked closely supporting the CEO and the Sanofi Executive Committee in transforming the company and delivering on its development agenda. As part of his role, he assumed responsibility for various global strategic and organizational projects, supported the post-acquisition integration of Genzyme Inc., led the global health policy effort and managed interactions with multiple external stakeholders. Former positions include various business operations’ positions in sales and marketing and as General Manager. David joined Rhône-Poulenc in 1997 where he held several positions in Finance and Corporate Development and participated in the creation of Aventis, a combination with Hoechst AG. He also served as Vice President Mergers & Acquisitions for Aventis. David started his career in 1992 at CCF, the fourth largest French bank.
David Khougazian is an engineer graduated from the ENSAE, the national aeronautical and space engineering school, and holds an MBA from the Collège des Ingénieurs.
Didier Blondel, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Sanofi Pasteur MSD
Didier Blondel is Vice President Finance and Services, Sanofi Pasteur MSD, where he oversees Finance – accounting, controlling, tax and treasury – Information Systems – I.S. and I.T. – Purchasing, General Services and Real Estate activities at the European level. Prior to joining the company in January 2012, Didier acquired a vast amount of international experience within Sanofi over the last 20 years, mostly in CFO roles in Pharmaceutical Operations and R&D. During that period, he has been instrumental in deep transformation and change management initiatives. Didier graduated from ICN Business School (Nancy), and holds a Master Degree in Finance and Accounting (Nancy). He started his career in External Auditing for PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Valérie Chevalier, Senior Director, Chief of Staff & Shareholders Liaison, Sanofi Pasteur MSD
Valérie Chevalier is Senior Director, Chief of Staff & Shareholders Liaison for Sanofi Pasteur MSD where she supports the President, providing strategic guidance and oversight on the company’s key initiatives. Prior to her current role, Valerie was Marketing Manager with the company for its European-wide efforts to deploy Influenza and Pneumo Vaccines. She was then appointed Director, Shareholders Liaison & Project Management, supporting the leadership team in its interactions on transversal issues and with the company’s shareholders. Before joining Sanofi Pasteur MSD in 2006, she held various local and international marketing positions for pharmaceutical leaders such as AstraZeneca and Merck Serono. She began her career in 1988 with Zeneca in France as a hospital representative. She holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacy from the Paris XI University and an MBA from the University of Hartford, Connecticut.
Hugo Fry, Vice President – Chief Marketing Officer at Sanofi Pasteur MSD
Hugo Fry, Vice President – Chief Marketing Officer at Sanofi Pasteur MSD, is the former Project Leader “Lixisenatide family” for the Global Diabetes Division of Sanofi, where he led a vertically integrated team accountable for all aspects of the research, clinical and industrial development, registration, market access and commercial launch of two major pipeline products. A British citizen who has spent 12 years in France, he brings to Sanofi Pasteur MSD 20 years of marketing and business experience.
Hugo holds a degree in Chemistry from Salford University, England. He began his career at Servier UK, in the sales organisation before moving to international medico-marketing and general management positions. He joined Aventis Pharma in 2003 as Head of Commercial Excellence in the United Kingdom. Hugo then held various Marketing positions in Global Operations before becoming Marketing Director for the Russian subsidiary. He was appointed Business Unit Director for Diabetes, Oncology and Cardio-Hospital Units in 2008 and later General Manager of Zentiva in Russia.
Frederic Ganet, Vice President, Human Resources and Internal Communications, Sanofi Pasteur MSD
Frederic Ganet is Vice President Human Resources and Internal Communications for Sanofi Pasteur MSD, where he leads development of the company’s HR strategies, and change & performance management. Prior to joining Sanofi Pasteur MSD in May 2011, Frederic was Senior Director, Global HR partner for R&D and CMO (Chief Medical Office) at Sanofi Pasteur, a company he first joined in 2005 as Director of Human Resources for Latin America and then Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Sanofi Pasteur, Frederic worked in HR management positions with Merial and Bayer CropScience. He holds a Master degree in Human Resources Management from Institut de Gestion Sociale de Lyon (IGS) and a Business, Psychology and Communications degree from the University of Aix en Provence.
Marc-Olivier Lamaro, Chief Compliance Officer, Sanofi Pasteur MSD
Marc-Olivier Lamaro joined Sanofi Pasteur MSD as Chief Compliance Officer in February 2014. He leads the Compliance program across the Company’s Corporate teams and all country affiliates. Previously, he was Director of Compliance for Johnson & Johnson in France and then the United Kingdom. Marc-Olivier also has a diverse background, including work in Sales & Marketing with J&J, experience which he has applied throughout his ten-year compliance career in health care industries. He is a graduate of the Business and Management School in Paris. He also holds degrees from Seton Hall Law School in Newark, New Jersey (US) and an Anti-Corruption Certification from Sciences Po, Paris.
Stephen Lockhart, Vice President, Development, Sanofi Pasteur MSD
Stephen Lockhart joined Sanofi Pasteur MSD as Vice President for Development in August 2013. He is responsible for the company’s Clinical Research, Epidemiology, Regulatory & Scientific Affairs, Pharmacovigilance & Risk Management, Quality & Pharmaceutical Affairs and Development Operational Excellence. From 2007 until 2013 Stephen was with Emergent BioSolutions, joining as President of Emergent Product Development UK and subsequently serving as Senior Vice President of Product Development and Vaccine Development. From 1995 until 2007 Stephen served with Wyeth Vaccines Research. In this role he was involved with the registration of Prevenar and Meningitec, as well as working on a wide range of other vaccines. Stephen studied medicine at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, graduating BM, BCh in 1980 and gained a DM from the Institute for Cancer Research. Stephen is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine.
Andrea Rappagliosi, Vice President, Market Access, Health Policy and Medical Affairs, Sanofi Pasteur MSD
Andrea Rappagliosi is the Vice President of Market Access, Health Policy and Medical Affairs at Sanofi Pasteur MSD.
Andrea most recently worked with GlaxoSmithKline as Vice President of European Government Affairs & Head of the Brussels Office. Since 1992, he has held pharmaceutical management positions at Serono International (now Merck Serono International), Baxter Healthcare, and The Ares-Serono Group. Throughout his career, he has been a member of key European pharmaceutical and bioscience boards, working groups and steering commitees. He was most recently named President of Vaccines Europe. Andrea began his career in the Italian Government. Andrea received a law degree from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and obtained a Legislative Consultant Diploma (LLM) at the Istituto Superiore dei Studi Legislativi (ISLE) – Scuola di scienza e tecnica della legislazione.
Etienne Rodriguez, Executive Director, Corporate Programs Management, Sanofi Pasteur MSD
Etienne Rodriguez is Executive Director, Corporate Programs Management, for Sanofi Pasteur MSD where he supports the Leadership Team in establishing the strategic programs roadmap and in providing transversal programs execution support and integration. Etienne joined Sanofi Pasteur MSD in 2007 as Director Controlling, Europe in a context of important growth. After significant achievements in this field, in 2012 he was appointed Program Senior Director for Finance transformation and in early 2013 for an initiative aiming at gearing up Compliance practices. Prior to joining the company, Etienne acquired a vast amount of international experience and change management in several Finance roles within Roche, Eaton and Bayer, in Commercial, Manufacturing and R&D operations. Etienne graduated from ESC Chambery Business School – with a specialization in Finance and Systems.
Esther Wick, Executive Director, General Counsel, Sanofi Pasteur MSD
Esther Wick is Executive Director, General Counsel at Sanofi Pasteur MSD where she leads the Legal Organization.
Esther joined Sanofi Pasteur MSD in 2014 with 15 years of experience as a lawyer and a team manager. She worked as an Associate for several well-known law firms in France and the United States on projects related to mergers and acquisitions, pharmaceutical and medical law, commercial litigations amongst others. Esther joined Pfizer in New York in 2003 as Corporate Counsel for Latin America and later moved to Brussels, Belgium, to create a new function in support of the European public affairs office. She most recently was in charge of providing legal support to the business in Europe as Assistant General Counsel.
Esther studied law both in France and in the US and is registered with the Paris and New York bars.
Ricardo Brage, Vice President & General Manager, Sanofi Pasteur MSD, Spain
Ricardo Brage is Vice President and General Manager for Sanofi Pasteur MSD in Spain. Prior to his current role, Ricardo was Business Unit Director Specialists and Hospitals, for MSD Spain. In all, Ricardo has more than twenty years of professional history with MSD/Merck & Co, where he held different positions of responsibility in the Sales and Marketing fields, as well as Operations and Business Development and Strategy, both at national and international levels. Prior to his two decades at Merck & Co/MSD, Ricardo began his professional career with Arthur Andersen. Ricardo has a degree in Economics from Denison University and an MBA from Houston University.
Marc Gailhardou, Vice President and General Manager, European Mid-Size Countries (EMC) Region
Marc is Vice President and General Manager, European Mid-Size Countries (EMC) Region: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland. Marc joined from Sanofi Pasteur where he was Head of CEO’s Office. Prior to this role, Marc held franchise leadership positions and successfully contributed to the commercial development and strategic management of the Influenza and pediatric portfolio. Marc launched his career in the healthcare practice of Arthur Andersen and held successive marketing and sales roles within GlaxoSmithKline. Marc holds a Pharmaceutical Sciences Doctorate and an MBA from the London Business School (LBS).
Nicoletta Luppi, Vice President & General Manager, Sanofi Pasteur MSD, Italy
Nicoletta Luppi is Vice President and General Manager of Sanofi Pasteur MSD Italy, as well as Managing Director and President of the Board of Directors. Prior to joining Sanofi Pasteur MSD in September 2012, Nicoletta spent nearly twenty years with Merck Sharp & Dohme Italy (MSD), where she successfully managed various Business Units, the Cardiovascular Metabolic Franchise, two subsidiaries within the MSD Italy Group, the Primary Careof Schering Plough and, at last, Market Access & Commercial Operations. After earning an undergraduate degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature, she earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the “L.U.I.S.S.” School of Management in Rome (Italy).
Serge Montero, Vice President & General Manager, Sanofi Pasteur MSD, France
Serge Montero is Vice President and General Manager for Sanofi Pasteur MSD in France. Prior to taking on this role in 2013, Serge was Vice President and General Manager of European Midsized Countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland. He has served Sanofi Pasteur MSD and its family of companies for more than twenty years. Over that time he’s held leadership positions in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Supply and Information Systems. He holds a Doctor in Science (PhD in Computer Sciences) degree from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées, in Lyon, France, a Master in Finance and Banking from the Université de Lyon II and a Master in Applied Mathematics and a Master in Technological Sciences (Computer Sciences), both from the Université de Lyon I.
Oliver Sadlek, Vice President, General Manager, Germany and Austria, Sanofi Pasteur MSD
Oliver is Vice President, General Manager for Sanofi Pasteur MSD in Germany and Austria. He brings to this role 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining the company, he was Business Unit Director Diabetes for Sanofi Germany. He joined Sanofi Germany in 2010 after two years with Wyeth as Business Unit Director Bio-Pharma. In 1999, Oliver joined GlaxoSmithKline where he held different managerial and leadership positions including, from 2005 to 2008, Director Marketing and Sales HIV and Immunology. Olivier holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry obtained at the University of Munich.
Richard Stubbins, Vice President & General Manager, Sanofi Pasteur MSD, UK
Richard Stubbins is Vice President and General Manager for Sanofi Pasteur MSD in the United Kingdom.
He joined Mérieux, the UK subsidiary of the pharmaceutical group Pasteur Mérieux Sérums et Vaccins in 1992, and, took his current position in 1995. Richard was instrumental in setting up a specialist trade body for the vaccine industry, the UK Vaccine Industry Group (UVIG). As UVIG Chairman, Richard has acted as the vaccine industry’s media spokesman and, in 2011, was invited to present on the UK industry at the inaugural European Influenza Summit. Richard was also a member of the joint Royal Society and Academy of Medical Sciences working group from 2008 to 2010 on Pandemic Influenza. He graduated from Liverpool University in Commerce, England and then qualified as a chartered accountant.
